Watch Kanye West's 'epic' speech at VMA's as he gives shout out to ex Amber Rose, Ray J and Taylor Swift (video)

Watch Kanye West's
Kanye West last night at the MTV Video Music Awards showed just why he is Kanye as he gave a speech to premier his new video.

He gave shout outs to his wife Kim K, his ex girlfriend Amber Rose, Ray J- who starred in a popular sex tape with his wife years ago and then called out Taylor Swift- who smartly avoided turning up at the star studded event despite being nominated.

Introducing his very racy video for track Fade, Kanye reminded the VMA's crowd that they are the blessed ones while simultaneously weighing into the issue of gun violence.

With the crowd chanting Yeezus, the rap star said: 'I am Kanye West and it feels really great to say that - especially this year. I came here to present my new video but before I do that I'm going to talk.'

'For people to understand just how blessed we are,  Famous was an expression of our now, our fame right now, us on the inside of the TV... I had the audacity to put Anna Wintour right next to Donald Trump.'
Kanye then made a few jokes making reference to his wife's sex tape partner Ray J and Amber Rose.
'I mean, I put Ray J in there bro! This is fame, bro! Like, I see you Amber. My wife is a G! Not a lot of people’s wives would let them say that. We came over in the same boat, now we're all in the same bed. Well, maybe different boats, but, if you think about last week, there was 22 people murdered in Chicago.'
'People come up to me like, ''Man, that's right, take Taylor down,'' - Bro, I love all of y’all. That’s why I called her.
'So I was speaking at the Art Institute last year and one kid came up to me and said ''Three of my friends died and I don't know if I'm going to be next.''
'If you're seeing people dying next to you you might think, what's the point? Life can start to feel worthless in a way. I know times for me, I sit down and talk to older, like, rich people, you know? A.K.A. White. And they tell me don't compare yourself to Steve Jobs. Don't compare yourself to Walt Disney.
'My friend [J. Sakiya Sandifer] told me there's three keys to keeping people impoverished; taking away their esteem, their resources, and their role models.'
Kanye then said his 'role models are artists, merchants' and he is one of his own role models.
'There's less than 10 I can name in history - Truman, Ford, Hughes, Disney, Jobs, West.'
'Tonight, we're here to have fun! I'm standing in front of my idol Puff Daddy. I'm standing in front of my wife Kim Kardashian-West. I'm standing in front of the future, Chance the Rapper. 2 Chainz. Jayden Smith. Bro, we are undeniably the influence, the thought leaders.  I'm gonna play y'all a piece of my art and I just hope you all have a good time.'

Beyonce dominates MTV awards

Beyonce dominates MTV awards
Beyonce on Sunday dominated the MTV Video Music Awards as she won a near-record award haul and awed the audience with a fiery dance medley with an unstated political message.

The pop superstar won Video of the Year for “Formation,” the most controversial work of her career, as she took home eight of the 11 awards for which she was nominated.
“Formation,” the first single off her intertwined film and album “Lemonade,” was shot in New Orleans and inspired by the city’s Creole culture, its bounce hip-hop scene and the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
“I dedicate this award to the people of New Orleans. God bless you guys,” Beyonce told the gala at New York’s Madison Square Garden.
Beyonce stole the spotlight by performing for more than 16 minutes songs from “Lemonade,” managing even to change outfits in a set that culminated in the stage erupting in fire.
In one of the most striking moments, a series of gun-shots rang out as her dancers, in angelic white dresses, each dropped to the ground in a red fog.
The video for “Formation,” directed by Melina Matsoukas, had offered solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement against police brutality with officers portrayed raising their hands as if under arrest.
Beyonce invited to the show, broadcast to more than 120 countries, the mothers of four young African American men whose deaths have galvanized the United States — Michael Brown, Eric Garner, Oscar Grant and Trayvon Martin.
Martin, 17, was killed in 2012 by a white neighborhood guard, a catalyst moment for Black Lives Matter. Brown, Garner and Grant were all killed by law enforcement.
Singer Alicia Keys offered another of the night’s powerful moments as she recited a poem inspired by civil rights hero Martin Luther King Jr. who delivered his landmark “I Have a Dream” speech in Washington 53 years ago Sunday.
In a year marred by global conflict and a bitter US presidential race, Keys, moving seamlessly from spoken word to a cappella, said: “If war is holy and sex is obscene, then we got it twisted in this lucid dream.”
“Maybe we can love somebody / instead of polishing the bombs of holy war.”
– Kanye talks Kanye –
At eight awards, Beyonce tied her contemporary Lady Gaga and Norway’s a-ha- a sensation in MTV’s early years — for the second biggest win in a single night.
Peter Gabriel retains the record, set in 1987 after his animation-driven “Sledgehammer.”
In one of the night’s most anticipated moments, rap superstar Kanye West — who last year used the occasion to declare his intention to run for president in 2020 — delivered a nearly stream-of-consciousness speech about empowerment.
As the audience chanted his stage-name Yeezy, West likened his creative talent to that of Apple founder Steve Jobs and entertainment pioneer Walt Disney, and said that unnamed wealthy white people had warned him not to make the comparison.
He defended his “Famous,” also up for Video of the Year, which depicted clean-cut pop star Taylor Swift naked in bed with him despite her complaints about the song.
Also seen naked with West in the video are Republican presidential contender Donald Trump, known for his hardline anti-immigration stance, and fashion editor Anna Wintour.
“We came over in the same boat. Now we all in the same bed,” West said, before clarifying that the on-screen lovers arrived on “maybe different boats.”
West then presented a racy new video for his song “Fade” featuring actress and singer Teyana Taylor, who moved her body sensually in a gym before a steamy shower scene.
The video marked a theme in the evening, if accidental, of sexualized exercise.
Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj received roars of crowd approval for a sensual take on a workout, with the pop singer and rapper dancing together in a stage transformed into a gym full of highly physical young men.
– Drake smitten with Rihanna –
Drake won in the rap category for “Hotline Bling,” one of the most popular songs of the year.
But Drake did not appear to accept the award. According to the presenter, rap icon Puff Daddy, the Toronto star got stuck in New York traffic.
Drake however did show up to present the Video Vanguard Award — named after late King of Pop Michael Jackson — to Rihanna, in recognition to her contributions to pop culture.
Drake gushed that Rihanna was “someone I’ve been in love with since I was 22.”
The 28-year-old Rihanna put on four medleys of her songs throughout the show in outfits that began with a snug white T-shirt.
In an acceptance speech, Rihanna pledged never to forget her native Barbados.

Tekno How singer's ‘Pana’ made me lose my one chance at true love and romance

Tekno How singer's ‘Pana’ made me lose my one chance at true love and romance
Tekno is a mad man. That’s the only name I can use to describe what he does and passes it off as music.

He is a mad man that deserves to be locked up in a house, where Nigerian pop lyricists can use him as an experimental study to find out the part of the brain responsible for the creation of those ‘stupid lyrics’ that just attacks your brain, erodes all your sanity and your ‘tushness’, and leaves you bumping and celebrating the most ludicrous of lines.
Since I received the song ‘Pana’ in my email, there has just been very little I can do to get it off my head and chest. It has become a virus, eating away at my health, and multiplying with each listen. It weighs down my chest, with very little I can do to expel air from my lungs without thinking of ‘Folake give me love oh’.

How does Tekno come up with this? How has he been able to mix rudimentary pidgin lyrics and melodies to such devastating effect?
Just this morning, on my way to work, I met a special woman in the bus. I had left my home in Ajah, Lagos, for an hour-long commute using the danfo to work. The day was bright as usual, my spirts were high, and I was well-groomed, with my cocktail of perfumes announcing my presence before I even show up anywhere. After fighting through the Agberos, and locating a bus that the passengers don’t look like they all have guns and jazz (voodoo) hidden underneath their garments, I boarded the bus.
Scratch that. The only reason why I took that bus was because I had seen a pretty woman, sitting alone in the middle row. Her eyes looked like the morning sun, her skin from afar reminded me of expensive and exotic vanilla ice creams. I could feel the taste of it in my lips, cold and warm at the same time, sweet and sensual, and you know, very sensual, with it dripping from my lips and massaging my soul.
Tekno How singer's
Sorry, I digress.
I swallowed a lump in my throat, and joined that bus. Sharp guy that I am. Like magic, once I got in, the bus got filled and we began the trip.
“Hello,” I offered shakily. Her presence was unnverving.
“Hi,” she said, smiling slightly.
That was all the confirmation I needed. Her smile felt like the sun had just risen, and all of Nigeria’s problems had been solved. In fact, if she had smiled more, we would achieved world peace, and ISIS would have laid down their arms and embraced love. The love of the mystery lady taketh away the war of the world.
So I went in. Her name was Angela, and she was on her way to work in Lekki. She liked Ice Cream (of course!), talked a little about music, and current affairs. At some point, I made her laugh so hard that she touched my arm, and I felt my bow-leg straighten, and all my diseases healed. Her touch is from heaven. I knew I had found true love. Love at first touch.
Just then she had a call, and stayed on it for a while. And that was the break I needed to find a new topic to discuss. I plugged in my headphones, and played the first song on my playlist. Unfortunately, it was Tekno’s ‘Pana’.
“Folake give me love oh, na you dey catch my shot oh…” the song possessed me again.
When she was done with the call, she simply gave another light touch to signal that she still had interest in my company.
I took off the headphones, and said “Folake are you done?”
And that was where everything went downhill. I had called Angela, my sweet Angela, Folake. Women don’t like being made ‘unspecial’ with something as simple as a name.
What?” she said, “How can you forget my name, we just met!”, Angela had become slightly pissed.
“Please I am sorry, it is not intentional, it is a mistake. It is Tekno’s fault.” I tried to push the blame. Another big mistake.
“You are a joker. Tekno? Is that the best you can do? What kind of guy fails to take responsibility and shifts the blame to Tekno? Tekno of all people. That’s weak man. That’s weak.”
Nothing I said worked again. Fola…sorry,…Angelina, stopped talking and simply plugged in her earphones, and began to play loud music. The little sound that escaped from the plugs, sounded a lot like a hymn ‘then sings my soul, my savior all to thee”. It was a Christian hymn, dedicated to God. She had gone back to loving Jesus Christ. Her lord and personal savior. I can’t compete with that. I can’t claim to have died for her sins. I can’t even die for my sins sef. Mtcheew.
But truly it was all Tekno’s fault. If only he didn’t start his new hit song with that title, then I could have collected her number, and began what I am sure will be my shot at true love. This was my one chance to enjoy love, and Tekno snuffed it. Took it from me, and now I am alone. Alone, with no Angelina.
The rest of the journey was weird and uncomfortable, and at Lekki we both came down. Angelina still had songs about her love for Christ playing as she walked away from me, forever. I had played myself.
Just then at that moment, I made the resolve; whenever I see Tekno again, I will beat him up. He cannot be ruining my life and still be making money. We will fight. I cannot take it!!!
